Freedom Township Planning Commission

The Planning Commission is responsible for interpreting and enforcing provisions of the Township’s Growth Management Plan, Zoning Ordinance and General Ordinances, as well as reviewing and acting upon site plan reviews, conditional use permits, land splits, zoning requests and other permitting issues which may come before the township. Members are appointed to three-year terms by the Board of Trustees.

The Planning Commission meets on the first Tuesday of each month at the township hall, 11508 Pleasant Lake Road, Manchester, beginning at 7:30 PM. The public is welcome at all meetings. Agendas and meeting minutes are posted to this web site.

Additional support is provided as needed by the Township’s appointed engineering firm, Orchard Hiltz & McCliment Inc., of Livonia, Michigan, and the Township’s appointed hydrogeologist, Robert Hayes, CPG, of GeoForensics, Inc., based in Williamston, Michigan.
