Freedom Township, Michigan

We have accomplished our goal of providing complete information on this web site for permitted and regulated activities within Freedom Township. This includes providing explanatory text, downloadable forms and applications, and relevant links where available to other web sites. We have also reorganized the Forms/Ordinances page to better segregate local, regional and county permitting activities. 

The information now available includes various Freedom Township forms used for rezoning requests, land splits, variances, address assignment and zoning compliance, as well as associated fees and explanatory information.

The forms and information associated with building and SESC permits from the Western Washtenaw Construction Authority are also available (see separate news article on this activity).

The Freedom Township Zoning Map is also available. The Zoning Map shows all parcels in the township and the current zoning classification assigned. The map is to be used in conjunction with the Freedom Township Zoning Ordinance, which was previously added to the web page. The Zoning Map is provided courtesy of Washtenaw County’s GIS group in the Support Services IT department. The map is in Adobe Acrobat pdf format.

The Freedom Township General Ordinances, the Zoning Ordinance, and the Growth Management Plan are available on-line for downloading, viewing and printing. Information is available in Adobe pdf format. The large documents have been broken up into smaller files by chapter, to facilitate download on 28K modems. A link is also available for downloading the free Adobe Reader software if you do not have it on your computer yet.
